is the Value of Royal Rangers? By Shane Peak There is no way to measure the value of Royal Rangers in a boy’s life. It teaches them many things, which includes rope craft, Bible, fire craft, first aid, cooking, compass, respect and responsibility. Royal Rangers gives the boys a chance to travel all over the State and into many other states for Powwows and Rendezvous. Royal Rangers gives the boys a chance to examine their selves, to find areas of weakness and to improve them. It gives them the chance to help the church, by assisting the youth pastor in children’s church, and other Royal rangers by helping them with advancements and personal problems. It gives the boys opportunity to serve in the leadership capacity of the district. Royal Rangers helps them spiritually. It encourages them to read the Bible, memorize scripture and how to do their best for Christ in their every day Christian walk. Royal Rangers exposes them to new hobbies and possible careers. It teaches photography, aviation, mountain climbing, camping canoeing, hiking, astronomy and weather. Royal Rangers teaches self-confidence; teaches the boy what they need to know and then provide a test so that they can apply what they learn. Some of these tests are, Survival camp, Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Phase I and Phase II, camping and achievement patches. In earning advanced awards it helps the boy gain knowledge in music, football, and basketball, baseball, driver’s education, flying a private plane, Red Cross first aid, and CPR, shooting black powder and weapons on an NRA Rifle range, spending a day canoeing with other boys and working at county courthouses with primary and general elections for the citizenship award. The most important value Royal Rangers gives to a boy is a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Teaches them that he is their savior, baptizer, and friend. Royal Rangers is more than a club or an activity, it is a ministry that reaches beyond the doors of a local assembly and out into the community.
